  •   The Springfield City School District is seeking a Supplemental High School Head Wrestling coach for the 2020-21 season.
               
    Head Wrestling Coach Stipend:   $4,635.00

    We are seeking applicants who possess the following Traits and Characteristics:
    • Positive and student centered individual who focuses on developing the total student
    • Creates and promotes a cohesive family environment
    • Treats all students fairly
    • A skilled technician who is an excellent teacher of skills and fundamentals
    • Strong communication skills
    • Well organized person who has structured practices throughout the season
    • Outstanding knowledge of the sport and strategies needed to be successful
    • Willing to put in the time needed to build the program
    • A skillful recruiter who attracts students to the program and keeps them engaged and interested
    • Versatility to teach students of various ages and ability levels
    • Well connected to the wrestling community
     

    Previous experience preferred.

    All "Requirements for Coach/Advisor" must be met on or before the first practice date and throughout the entire season of sport to be performed.

     


    Qualifications:

     
    • Completion of an 8-hour Fundamentals of Coaching course as required.
    • Completion of the Concussion in Sports course as required.
    • Completion of an approved CPR course issued by the American Red Cross, The American Heart Association or similar entity.
    • Completion of a 4-hour Sports Medicine or Sports Safety First Aid course issued by the American Red Cross or similar entity.
    • Completion of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest course, called "Lindsay's Law", from the Ohio Department of Education
    • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Pupil Activity Permit as issued by the Ohio Department of Education
    • Copies of the above documents must be on file in Human Resources.
