The terms for coaches are now three years, absent just cause for removal. Appointments of assistant coaches shall be for the terms concurrent with his/her respective head coach, similarly absent just cause for removal. Any Assistant coaching vacancy occurring after the beginning of the head coach's term shall be filled for the remainder of said coach's term. Any head coaching vacancy occurring after the beginning of that head coach's term shall be filled for the remainder of the original head coach's term. QUALIFICATIONS:
The filling of this position is based upon continued funding in the Board of Education budget. Note: Teachers dually certified in TESOL, Bilingual Education or ESL, with experience in Sheltered Instruction or fluency in a language other than English, will be given preference for all Stamford Public School positions.
JOB DESCRIPTION Upward Bound Teachers/Instructors General Statement The Upward Bound Program serves 65 ninth through twelfth grade students who are low-income and/or potential first generation college students. The program seeks to promote collegiate preparedness by strengthening students’ academic and social-emotional skills necessary for success in high school and beyond. The Upward Bound Teacher will work with the Upward Bound Project Director and Advisor to support these goals, by providing instruction and enrichment for Upward Bound’s Saturday Academy. Responsibilities Teachers instruct four, 50-minute long, small classes, based at UConn-Stamford for our Upward Bound high school students. Classes take place 2 times per month on Saturday mornings (9:00 am – 12:30 pm). Teachers are responsible for tracking and reporting students’ progress. Teachers develop their own classroom content/curriculum. We are especially looking for teachers of: Math, Science, Technology, English (Grammar & Composition, etc.), Foreign Language and History. The Substitute Secretarial/Clerical Assistant will fill in for Board of Education Office Support Staff, Executive Secretaries, or other clerical staff during long-term leaves and vacancies. They will be hired for a particular assignment, and will be paid on an hourly basis at a rate commensurate with experience.
Training on Stamford Public Schools' computer systems will be provided upon hire.
SUBSTITUTE SECURITY WORKER
The Security Worker assists in the establishment and maintenance of a positive and safe educational plant and school environment. Since this position is considered a district position, the Security Worker reports to the principal of the school/building to which he/she may be assigned and also to the District Director of Security. Activities and schedules can vary with each school, and Security Workers are expected to work a full day (8 hours) at any and all of the following activities as directed by the principal or his/her designee.

Job Description - Foreign Language Teacher
A competent Foreign Language Teacher understands growth and development, demonstrates knowledge of what is to be taught and facility in the basic skills and helps students to develop positive self-concepts. The Foreign Language Teacher stimulates the independence of each student as a learner, effectively assesses student needs and progress, and plans instruction to achieve selected objectives, including those appropriate for exceptional students. The Foreign Language Teacher accomplishes these objectives through effective communication with students, parents and colleagues, and through the use of appropriate techniques and materials in a positive climate where time, space and equipment are effectively organized for instruction. In addition, the Foreign Language Teacher meets professional responsibility for continuing growth and fosters cooperative involvement with parents and the community.
TITLE I MATH/LITERACY TUTORS
The Title I Tutor accepts responsibility for providing tutoring in math and/or literacy using research-based intervention programs to elementary level students at the school site.
