    TITLE:      Elementary Principal  - Northeast Elementary
      
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   
    • Previous school leadership experience
    • Demonstrates ability to develop strong professional relationships with staff
    • Experience in data-driven decision-making using state and local assessment data
    • Collaborative leadership approach with strong communicative and interpersonal skills
    • Collaborative approach with families, community members and community resources to support focus on student learning
    • Demonstrated ability to lead change and manage transitions
    • Experience in working with professional learning communities
    • Proven record of instructional leadership
    • Demonstrated commitment to improving student achievement for all students
    Must possess the administrative qualifications and certification set by the code of Iowa and the Iowa Department of Education.

    SUPERVISES:                          
    The academic and support personnel employed in the building(s) assigned to the Principal.
     
    JOB SUMMARY:                      
     
    To provide instructional leadership, supervision, and administration which promote the  educational development of each student.
     
    TERMS OF EMPLOYEMENT:       
    This is a 12 month position. Salary, benefits, and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
     
    EVALUATION:                            
    Job performance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board's policy for Evaluation of Administrative personnel.

    • Aligns and implements the educational programs, plans, actions, and resources with the district's vision, mission, and goals.
    • Provides leadership for major initiatives and change efforts.
    • Communicates effectively to various stakeholders regarding progress with school improvement plan goals.
    • Develops communication strategies to inform stakeholders of progress towards the vision, mission, and goals of the district.

    • Provides leadership for assessing, developing and improving climate and culture.*

    • Uses current research and theory about effective schools and leadership to develop and revise his/her professional growth plan.*

    Bending, carrying, climbing, driving, lifting, pushing-pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, walking.
     
    WORKING CONDITIONS:           
    1.  Includes extremes of temperature and humidity.
