Clarinda Community Schools is seeking an energetic individual to serve as a Food Service Worker. Duties include but not limited to: Food preparation and handling, Assisting with daily cooking and baking, Assisting with washing/drying of dishes and operation of dishwasher, Performing daily clean up duties, Maintaining positive communication with all people served by the program, Participateing in required training as needed, Have, or be able to earn, Serv Safe or equivalent food handling certification Anticipated hours: 6 per day 9 month position Wage: $12.81 per hour Physical demands – The following list is representative of the functions necessary to perform this job. While performing the duties of this job, employees must bend, squat, stoop, kneel, reach above the head and use hands frequently to grasp items. Employee will bend and twist more than average, and must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, such as food trays, commercial canned goods, and frozen foods. Employee must occasionally push/pull loaded carts and equipment. Work Environment – Considerable noise in the work area is common, as are temperature extremes from heating equipment and freezers. Floor areas may be damp. Cuts and burns may be more common. Employees must also be able to work with known food allergens. This is not an exhaustive list, but complies with ADA requirements.
