    REPORTS TO: Director of Technology


    JOB GOAL: To help plan and implement a technology rich environment to advance instruction and student learning at the Grinnell-Newburg Community School District.



    1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with experience and/or training in educational technology.
    2. Strong communication and human relations skills.
    3. Knowledge of and skills in various technologies and systems.
    4. Ability to adapt and learn as technology changes.
    5. Effective organizational and leadership skills.


    1. Participate in the installation, maintenance and problem resolution for district hardware and software.
    2. ?Utilize experience with JAMF software to assist in managing Apple devices.
    3. Perform preventative maintenance and repair various technology devices such as computers, iPads, projectors, security systems, paging systems, phone systems, etc.
    4. Work closely with SU Insurance to recover funds for in-house repairs and cash-outs.
    5. Collaborate to install, update, and secure the network including switches, cabling, and network appliances.
    6. Run cabling and hardwire district Apple TVs and new projectors with static IP to ensure proper connectivity.
    7. Review and recommend updates to computer manuals and operating procedures.
    8. Remain current on new developments in the area of software, hardware, networks, telecommunications, training, and maintenance.
    9. Collaborate to update and manage servers such as DNS, DHCP, AD, Cache, Distribution Points, Netflow, etc.
    10. Manage filtering software for network and student devices such as iBoss and Securly.
    11. Work as a team to plan and implement technology projects for district such as copier/printer lease, phone project/wiring upgrade, wireless internet upgrade project, building security, etc.
    12. Provision and deprovision student Google Accounts and update directory service upon entry and departure of student.
    13. Troubleshoot and repair controller/IP issues with HVAC equipment/building systems.
    14. Setting and upkeep on clocks including possible planning and implementation of new project for wireless clocks.
    15. Maintain confidentiality in the school operation.
    16. Perform other job related duties as assigned.
