Position Type: Classroom Teacher - Alternative Setting

NCCS is a consortium of 20 member schools that provides an alternative educational setting for students with behavioral and social-emotional issues. We serve students in grades 3-12 and are a part of the Manson Northwest Webster Community School District. The North Central Consortium School is currently accepting positions for a Full-Time Classroom Teacher who is open to teaching multiple subject areas as needed.
NCCS offers a general education program with special education supports. There are many features of the program that allows students an opportunity for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth while enrolled.
Teach variety of subjects, including social skills
Demonstrate the ability to enhance academic performance
Demonstrate competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position
Demonstrate competence in planning and preparing for instruction
Use strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students
Use effective classroom management strategies
Fulfills all the responsibilities of the IEP: Timely and Current Progress Monitoring, Uses Progress Monitoring to Guide Instruction, etc.
Work collaboratively with other educational professionals
Engage in professional growth
Working with special education students with academic, behavioral, and social/emotional needs.
Will provide direct instruction for content areas in the special education classroom as needed as well as assist students in the general education classroom.
Must have a solid knowledge base regarding various de-escalation strategies.
Must be knowledgeable regarding differentiating instruction plus modifications and accommodations needed to help students with disabilities meet the Iowa Core.
