    Job Title:            TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

    Job Goal: The Support Technician will be the first level of technical support for students, faculty, and staff within the Sheldon Community School District. The technician will provide one-on-one end-user support, maintain the support ticketing system, image computers, maintain computer inventories, and assist the Technology Coordinator in long-term planning and implementation of new systems.
     
    Performance Responsibilities:
    1. Provides one-on-one end-user problem resolution over the phone and in person
    2. Manages software deployments including updates, patches, and new software
    3. Develops, configures, and tests computer images for district devices
    4. Performs hardware repair for computer equipment and peripherals that are not covered by third-party vendor maintenance agreements
    5. Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves technical support problems for district users
    6. Inventories, delivers, sets up, and assists in the configuration of end-user hardware, software and peripherals
    7. Assists with installations of local area network cabling systems and equipment such as switches and access points
    Required Skills:
    1. Knowledge of:
      1. Operating systems (iOS, Windows, Android, and ChromeOS)
      2. Various software applications and basic hardware
      3. Minor hardware repair
      4. Principles and theories of network systems and management
    2. Personable and friendly
      1. Able to handle simultaneous requests from end-users
      2. Calm disposition while working with end-users
    Preferred Skills:
    • Experience providing end-user technical support
    • Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, G Suite, Meraki Systems Manager, and Microsoft Office
    • Basic knowledge of audio-video equipment (soundboards, speakers, projectors)
    • Willingness to learn
    • 2 or 4-year technical degree
     
    Terms of Employment: 260-day contract; 10 holidays; 15 vacation days; Health, Life, & LTD; Salary to be determined by the Board.
     
    Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
