Essential Job Functions:
Enhance academic performance and support for implementation of the school district’s student achievement goals; demonstrate competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position; collaboratively and individually plans and prepares for instruction; uses strategies to deliver instruction that meet the multiple learning needs of students; manage classroom; pursue professional growth; fulfill professional responsibilities; use a variety of methods to monitor student learning.
Must hold a valid Iowa Teaching License K-6 certification Reading Endorsement preferred; Experience with PCL, Math Investigations, Calkins Writing Units, and PBIS preferred; experience teaching small group reading successfully and differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all students in the classroom; experience using research based strategies; experience working successfully with ELL students, special needs students and diverse learners; must be a collaborative partner with parents, teachers, and instructional assistants to increase student achievement; must be able to analyze data and differentiate instruction for all students to reach their greatest Potential; evidence of effective teaching as demonstrated in student data; history of excellent attendance in prior work settings; good communicator with staff, students, and families; problem solving skills; ability to focus on solutions; supportive, with the belief of all students can learn and failure is not an option; ability to collaborate with a team; ability to accelerate academic growth; commitment to doing whatever it takes to support student success; Believe that all students can learn rigorous academic content at high levels; ability to plan (collaboratively and independently) and deliver powerful lessons that engage students at high level; passion for working with a diverse student population; effective in using innovative technology; effective in classroom management; uses a variety of methods to monitor student learning; ability to remain committed to the education of students; excellent record of attendance; ability to collaborate with students, families, colleagues and business partners to provide the most effective educational opportunities; maintain a positive, growth mindset.
