    Wage Range        $14.25 - $15.75 per hour

    8 hours per day, 220-day contract.

     

     

     

    Position Purpose  
    To support the Transportation Department in a professional manner that leads to a positive experience for all school stakeholders: employees, students, parents, and community members.

     

    Essential Performance Responsibilities

     
    • Serves as administrative assistant to the Transportation Director, performing regular clerical duties and other assigned tasks as needed

    • Enters and maintains student transportation data in customized school software program

    • Works with building secretaries and principals to ensure safety of students being transported and maintains effective communication

    • Works with Activities office to schedule student transportation for events; tracks mileage, drivers, times, and department to be billed for each trip

    • Works with staff to schedule use of school vehicles for trips, etc.; tracks mileage, drivers, times, and department to be billed for each trip

    • Assists the Transportation Director with organizing bus routes

    • Assists the Transportation Director with notification of public, parents and staff of bus service changes or adjustments due to weather conditions or other unforeseen conditions

    • Maintains Pay-for-Ride student records, tracks payments and administration of student bus passes

    • Prepares student identification and bus passes

    • Serves as receptionist to public as well as receiving and dispatching phone calls and messages; fields questions/concerns from parents and community members

    • Processes daily mail

    • Distributes memos for district office to all staff as appropriate

    • Maintains files and performs various fiscal service filing duties

    • Assists Transportation Director as needed to adjust bus routes

    • Maintains inventory of transportation vehicles and equipment; maintains trip/schedule book daily

    • Assists the Transportation Director with state and other reporting requirements

    • Maintains office supplies inventories

    • Assists at registration and open houses as assigned

    • Accounts Payable and Receivable accounting functions:

    • Processes all purchase orders related to transportation department

    • Receives, audits, and reconciles vendor invoices to PO daily

    • Payroll accounting functions:

       
      • Verifies employee attendance

      • Records employee paid and unpaid leaves

      • Submits payroll records to District Office

      • Distributes paychecks

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications Profile

     
    • High School Diploma or GED required, Associate’s Degree or higher preferred

    • Experience providing customer service phone support

    • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of general office technology (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite) and aptitude to learn advanced technology applications

    • Strong clerical and general office skills

    • Strong organization skills necessary to maintain an efficient and effective records system

    • Strong oral and written communication skills

    • Preference will be given to candidates who are willing to pair this position with a PT bus driver position and have proper licensure to do so.

     

     

     

    Physical Requirements

     
    • Requires lifting, carrying, pushing up to 10 - 40 pounds on occasion

    • Requires some stooping and kneeling

    • Must be able to sit upright in a desk task chair for a minimum of 4 hours per day

    • Must be able to perform data entry at a computer workstation for a minimum of 4 hours per day

    • Must be able to meet a pre-employment physical

    Terms of Employment

     
    • At-will, Hourly Confidential Employee

    • Approximately 220 days per year or as needed

    • Work days and hours to be established by supervisor, approximate schedule will be 7:30am - 4:30pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch.

    • Employment per Board Policies and Administrative Rules and Regulations
