    Description:

     

    NCCS is a consortium of 20 member schools that provides an alternative educational setting for students with behavioral and social-emotional issues.  We serve students in grades 3-12 and are a part of the Manson Northwest Webster Community School District. The North Central Consortium School is currently accepting positions for a Full-Time Classroom Teacher who is open to teaching multiple subject areas as needed.  

     

    NCCS offers a general education program with special education supports. There are many features of the program that allows students an opportunity for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth while enrolled.

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

     
    • Teach variety of subjects, including social skills

    • Demonstrate the ability to enhance academic performance

    • Demonstrate competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position

    • Demonstrate competence in planning and preparing for instruction

    • Use strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students

    • Use effective classroom management strategies

    • Fulfills all the responsibilities of the IEP: Timely and Current Progress Monitoring, Uses Progress Monitoring to Guide Instruction, etc.

    • Work collaboratively with other educational professionals

    • Engage in professional growth

    • Working with special education students with academic, behavioral, and social/emotional needs.

    • Will provide direct instruction for content areas in the special education classroom as needed as well as assist students in the general education classroom.

    • Must have a solid knowledge base regarding various de-escalation strategies.

    • Must be knowledgeable regarding differentiating instruction plus modifications and accommodations needed to help students with disabilities meet the Iowa Core.
