    REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:
    1.High school diploma or equivalent education
    2.Ability to effectively communicate written and orally
    3.Ability to work for extended periods of time in extreme hot/cold conditions
    4.Ability to lift, bend, stand, walk frequently
    5.Ability to problem solve in a fast paced environment
    6.Must pass required physical assessment
    7.Any offer contingent upon successful background check
    8.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    1.Food service experience of at least one-year
    2.Hospitality industry cooking experience (Schools, Healthcare, Restaurant, Catering).
    3.ServSafe Certification or equivalent
    4.Basic computer skills including:
    • Ability to learn new software quickly and navigate between pieces of software on a computer
    • Microsoft Office products
    • Data entry and 10-key

    Nutrition Services Statement of Purpose:
    Promote a culture of health and wellness in the Ankeny Community School District by providing safe and nutritious foods that support the learning process

    Expectations
    Support Nutrition Services in achieving expectations outlined in the position job schedule, Acts of PRIDE, Operational Guidelines, USDA Guidelines, and Iowa Food Code.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Provide EXCELLENT customer service to all people in accordance with department standards
    • Serve menu items quickly and accurately to meet department standards
    • Dependability, punctuality, and initiative are required
    • Completion of all mandatory trainings by required date
    • Appropriate hygiene and uniform required in accordance with operational guidelines
    • Food prep in accordance to standardized recipes while maintaining quality food standards including temperature, taste, and appearance
    • Able to correctly operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, slicers, mixers, steam kettles, tilt skillets, ovens, and all miscellaneous kitchen equipment.
    • Cleaning of all areas including but not limited to:  Sweeping/mopping floors, washing tables, dishes, pots/pans and work areas
    • Setting up and organizing all service areas according to department standards
    • Responsible for stocking, organizing, and completing inventory of assigned areas in compliance with FIFO (First-In First-Out) and department standards
    • Ability to setup and operate computer systems
    • Ability to maintain composure and problem solve in a fast paced environment
    • Responsible for knowing and executing food service best practices according to SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)
    • Responsible for filling out all appropriate paperwork in a timely manner including but not limited to: temperature logs, production usage records, leave of absence slips
    • Adhere to safety procedures at all times
    • Develop and maintain an effective level of communication with appropriate personnel
    • Perform other duties as may from time to time be assigned by your Team Leader, Manager and/or Assistant Manager.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    Pay period based on the number of days that lunch is served to students each year. Salary and work year will be established by the Board.
