~~ MAJOR DUTIES:
Supervise childcare activities as assigned by coordinator, director/supervisor.
Maintain all DHS guidelines.
Attend all trainings as required.
Implement programming associated with early childhood development and social/emotional/behavioral skills to be delivered in a center setting.
Provide active communication and positive relationships with parents and community members.
Assist with co-workers, directors, supervisors and coordinators on matters pertaining to early childhood and skill growth and health and development of the whole child.
Maintain appropriate records and protects the confidentiality of data.
Report to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
Display a responsible attitude towards job and fellow workers.
Willing to work under adverse weather conditions.
May work a varied work day.
Capable of representing the District in a professional manner, which includes but is not limited to confidentiality, communication skills, and ability to present a professional personal image.
Educational experience or job related experience in a child development program preferred. Evidence of excellent health and condition.
Free of conviction by law of any state for mistreatment of a child or violence against a person or for lascivious acts with a child, child neglect, or child abuse.
Current certification in DHS approved Pediatric First Aid, Infant, Child and Adult CPR, and Universal Precautions preferred.
Certification in Mandatory Reporter’s training for suspected child abuse.
Attain training from outside agencies each year.
SKILLS AND ABILITY:

The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 0-12 feet and occasionally up to 20 feet, such as curriculum materials, tables, chairs, food trays, and boxes. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables and carts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus while supervising children and working with computers and written materials.

The noise level in the work environments is not usually quiet. The position requires the commitment of the professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond the typical workday. The employee will frequently work in different areas of the center including in/at tables, on or near the floor, standing, in movement while supervising indoor and outdoor activities, etc. The employee may work with different ages and groups depending on the center needs. The employee will work in indoor and outdoors temperatures when supervising playground, when transporting children, and while on field trips.
