      Urbandale Community School District
    Under general supervision, provides office support services for payroll, benefits, personnel, employment, and compliance functions.
    Twelve (12) month position
    Five (5) hours per day
    Beginning hourly wage- $14.09
    This is a part-time position, and is not eligible for health insurance benefits.

    A. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
    1. Requires computer literacy, data entry and data analysis skills.
    2. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
    3. Ability to file, post and copy data from records, make arithmetic calculations, decipher handwriting and follow written and oral instructions.
    4. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and carry out detailed procedures with several variables.
    5. Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
    6. Effective oral and written communication skills.
    7. Must be able to interact in a positive manner with students, faculty, parents and other staff members.
    B. Education
    1. One year of specialized study beyond high school

    D. Experience
    1. 2-3 years experience as an administrative assistant, clerk, or receptionist
    E. Equipment
    1. Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment including computer, printer, ten-key calculator, copy machine, fax machine, telephone, etc.
    The following duties are normal for this position.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.
    1. Provide reception and general office support for the Business and Human Resources departments.  Greet visitors and direct them to the proper location; keep an accurate list of calls, information requests, meetings and schedules; open, sort, prioritize and distribute incoming mail; maintain current calendar, schedule meetings and arrange facilities for meetings; maintain accurate filing system for office; type all correspondence, purchase orders, agendas, personnel reports for board meetings, etc.; order and maintain a proper inventory of supplies; and run all necessary schedules or requested reports.
    2. Check all absence reports against timesheets, track substitute teachers and ensure correct hours are paid.
    3. Assist in completion of month-end reports, quarterly reports and year-end reports in accordance with department procedures.
    4. Maintain databases for substitutes, applicants, and employees.
    5. Monitors placement of student teachers.
