    Title: Maintenance- Light Vehicle Mechanic
     
    Reports to: Director of Buildings and Grounds or Designee
     
    Qualifications:
    a.  High School diploma or equivalent
    b.  Demonstrates aptitude or competence for duties as assigned
    c.  Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Directors may find appropriate and acceptable.
    d. 
    Present self in a positive image that represents a desire to achieve excellence in skills with a positive attitude.
    e.  Experience in maintenance of heavy truck and busies. Must have or be willing to obtain Class B CDL & proper endorsements for driving school bus as required for substitute driving and activity trips. 

    Performance   Responsibilities: 

    a. Candidate would be a person who is capable of assisting in some of the tasks of the transportation director.
    b. Be able to perform mechanical work, and capable of doing routine service work, and simple repairs such as wiring repairs, belts and hoses, replacing lights, latches, and simple bolt-on mechanical repairs. 
    c. Oversee and coordinate diagnostic and heavier suspension repairs to a qualified local shop that has the technology, expertise and equipment to perform the repairs. 
    e. Have or be able to obtain a license to drive a bus and available to cover routes and trips as needed,
    f. Be available to assist the transportation director when needed. 
    g. Perform preventative and general maintenance on tractors, mowers, and other grounds equipment as needed.
    h. Be available for an as needed on call person in the event of an emergency and/or responding to district alarm calls.
    i. Assist and/or maintain district maintenance vehicles as required.
    j. Assist other maintenance personnel in their normal duties as requested by the appropriate supervisor.
    k. Substitute district lunch van route on an as needed basis for the purpose of delivering student meals to the various buildings.
     
    Work Schedule:               12 months, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week
