    Level II Special Education Associate 
    Class C, 7 hrs./day, 176 days/yr.
    New hires must have an AA degree, Para-educator Certificate, or ability to pass Bronze level NCRC. Program associate. Responsibilities include helping to manage disruptive, angry, or oppositional students in a K-8 program. Must be able to work with diverse behavioral, emotional, and academic needs of students. Must be able to monitor productivity and provide support to students with special needs in completing assignments. Must be caring, consistent, and firm when helping students to remain on task during structured and unstructured activities. Must be able to supervise students in a variety of settings and have a basic understanding of all subject areas and able to document behavior incidents. Must implement and monitor teacher-directed instruction and behavior management plans consistent with IEPs. Skills needed for individual include: giving short and simple directions, repeating directions, redirecting social situations and choices (seeing the problem before it occurs). Other duties include but are not limited to tutoring students, transitioning students from BD to other areas of the building and monitoring other areas. Computer skills, Behavior Management, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, CPR, and Medication Administration Training preferred. Must have the ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs. Flexibility and mobility. Other duties as assigned.
