This employment is on an "on-call" basis with no guarantees to the number of days or hours you may be requested to work.
Driver/ Food Service Position is responsible for loading, unloading and driving a delivery truck. Ensure all items are included for delivery. Organize merchandise on delivery truck. Return pans, trays and any other items to central kitchen. Delivers paperwork to schools and central kitchen. Maintain clean truck interior and delivery area. Communicates with all school and central kitchen personnel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE A High school diploma or GED is required. 2-3 years of route sales/delivery driver experience preferred but not required. A clean driving record is required. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and groups from all levels of the organization, including departmental staff, principals, and central administration, as well as students, parents, and community members. Individual must have effective listening skills. Maintain polite attitude and assist others when needed. ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS Being punctual is a necessity. Complete duties in a timely manner. Must have the ability to multi-task. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The ability to lift up to 75 pound frequently and climb stairs while carrying food and supplies is required. Employee may work in all weather conditions. Must be able to continuously stand or walk. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED Will perform other duties as may be assigned by the superintendent or designee, necessary and appropriate to achievement of the program and/or District goals and objectives.

This position assists in putting away food and supplies, setting up serving areas and dispensing food, cleaning lunchroom and serving area after use and assists department head in maintaining accurate production records for the department. This position assists department head in ensuring proper food temperatures are kept, all food requirements are met for meals and perform other duties as assigned by the manager. Hours: 4.0 per day Position requires ability to move and/or lift at least 50 pounds as needed, have a valid driver’s license, basic computer skills, basic math skills, and knowledge of measuring conversions. All employees are expected to attend and become certified in ServSafe.
Assist in putting away delivered foods & supplies; ensure that equipment is properly used & cared for; prepare food items by using appropriate methods & standardized recipes; ensure proper amounts of food sent to satellite schools, inform dept. head of food & supplies needed for department; perform cleaning duties as assigned by the manager; record amounts of food used & clean up serving areas; assist with food preparation in all areas of the kitchen; assume responsibilities for the assigned department in at the absence of the department head & any other duties as assigned by the manager.. BUS ROUTE DRIVERS AND SUBSTITUTE DRIVERS SUBSTITUTE: Housekeepers, Custodial, Food Service, Summer Help, Paraprofessionals Central Lyon is a financially stable, growing district with great facilities! In 1998 a new high school building was added to the existing elementary/middle school building which was built in the late 1960s. The high school consists of approximately 197 high-achieving students, the middle school enrollment is 235 and the elementary has 351 students. Recent test scores exceed state and national averages. A building project was recently completed which includes security entrances, weight room, wrestling room, new principal and administrative offices. Central Lyon offers Smart Boards in all academic classrooms and has a campus wide wireless network. It is the District's goal to expand the One-to-One laptop program to encompass the entire student body. Currently laptop computers are issued to all students in grades 6th – 12th. Mobile laptop labs are also available to all classrooms. The school is located in Rock Rapids and also servers Doon, IA.
