    Required Qualifications
    • Hold an Elementary Professional School Counselor (#172) or #173 Secondary Professional School Counselor (#173) endorsement from the BOEE, or be eligible to obtain
    • Possess effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
    • General understanding of the learning process and specific knowledge of the unique physical, social, emotional, linguistic, and academic development of middle school learners
    • Demonstrated passion for serving middle school students
    • Demonstrated effectiveness in establishing and sustaining classroom and building environments that promote learning
    • Consistently maintains a positive attitude and pleasant demeanor
    • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth 
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Demonstrated effectiveness in implements the individual planning component by guiding individuals and groups of students and their parents or guardians through the development of educational and career goals
    • Demonstrated effectiveness in collecting and analyzing data for the purpose of program evaluation
    • Demonstrated effectiveness in implementing guidance curriculum through the use of effective instructional skills and careful planning of structured group sessions for students
    • Demonstrated effectiveness providing systems support through effective school counseling program management and support for other educational programs
    • Demonstrated effectiveness organizing time and calendars to implement an efficient program
    • Experience participating in program audits
    • Demonstrated effectiveness providing responsive services through the effective use of individual and small group counseling, consultation and referral skills
    • Demonstrated effectiveness implementing a school guidance curriculum through the use of effective instructional skills and careful planning of structured group sessions for students
    • Demonstrated effectiveness monitoring students’ progress
    • Demonstrated effectiveness planning, organizing and delivering a school counseling program
    • Evidence of serving as a student advocate, leader, collaborator, and systems change agent
    • Demonstrated willingness to collaborate with building administrators in discussing the counseling department management system and program action plans
    • Successful experience serving in Professional Learning Communities and understanding of the PLC process
    • Background in Authentic Intellectual Work (AIW) and demonstrated commitment to enhancing student engagement
    • Successful experience integrating technology in the classroom
