  •   Purpose of Position
    Serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness. Help in Food Service with the preparation of food and daily tasks of Food Service. This position is on an as needed basis.

    A. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
    1. Demonstrated aptitude for successful performance of the responsibilities listed below.
    2. Able to perform mathematical computations.
    B. Education
    1. High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency.


    The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

    1. Maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
    2. Report to assistant director or director any faulty or inferior quality food which is received.
    3. Prepare cafeteria counter for service.
    4. Responsible for daily inventory of milk and juice before and after lunch.
    5. Services students and staff in a quick and pleasant manner.
    6. Removes used trays from dining area, rinses them and restacks in carts to return to main kitchen for washing.
    7. Record meals served and extra milk sold.
    8. Responsible for daily cleanup of kitchen and service areas.
    9. Assumes responsibility for proper return of leftover foods to production kitchen.
    10. Maintain the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
    11. Order all necessary supplies on a weekly basis.
    12. Assume responsibility for the security of food and supplies.
    13. Responsible for keeping adequate amounts of chemicals, condiments and disposables on hand.
    14. Maintain an accurate monthly inventory.
    15. Perform major cleaning of refrigerator, stove and milk cooler(s) at regularly scheduled intervals.
    16. Assume responsibility for assuring all equipment in the kitchen area is in safe working condition and notifies the assistant director or director when repairs or replacements are necessary.
    17. Confers with foodservice director regarding personnel problems.
    18. Maintain a reliable attendance record.
    19. Perform other duties as assigned.
