Grant Wood Area Education Agency is seeking individuals interested in becoming a substitute Paraeducator for off-site classrooms. Classrooms include services for elementary and secondary students in the areas of autism and behavior disabilities, in addition to adolescents and young adults temporarily placed in shelters or juvenile detention. Classrooms are located in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and Marion. 2018-2019 hourly rate $13.55.
All applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for Paraeducator in order to work as a substitute in our off-site clasrooms.
1) Two years of post high school training in a social science or education related field.
2) Prior experience in a classroom setting.
Monticello Community School District is seeking substitute Special Education Associates at the elementary, middle school and high school levels. This would be for an on-call, as needed basis only. In 1998 a new high school building was added to the existing elementary/middle school building which was built in the late 1960s. The high school consists of approximately 197 high-achieving students, the middle school enrollment is 235 and the elementary has 351 students. Recent test scores exceed state and national averages.
