Title: Assistant Principal
Assists the principal with the administrative duties in a school.
1. Master’s degree or beyond. 2. Certification in one of the following areas: 486, 487, 488, 490, 491 (Proper MDE certification in secondary or elementary pending the position need.) 3. A minimum of three successful years teaching experience. 4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
Performance Responsibilities: 1. Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school. 2. Serves as the principal in the absence of the regular principal. 3. Proposes schedules of classes and extracurricular activities. 4. Supervises the preparation of student schedules. 5. Works with department heads and faculty in compiling the annual budget requests. 6. Requisitions supplies, textbooks, and equipment; conducts inventories; and checks on receipts for such material. 7. Assists in safety inspections and safety drill practice activities. 8. Assumes responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services. 9. Supervises the reporting and monitoring of the student attendance and works with the attendance supervisor for investigative follow-up actions. 10. Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and deals with special cases as necessary. 11. Serves with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives. 12. Administers the student insurance program. 13. Performs such record-keeping functions as the principal may direct. 14. Supervises teachers and departments as assigned by the principal. 15. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may from time to time assign.

Director of Child Nutrition
Coordinate food service with school activities
Strive for good public relations with customers, co-workers, principal, school staff, supervisors and community
Cooperate with principal, faculty, students and staff to make the food service program an integral part of the total school program

Prepare and post a master daily work schedule
Demonstrate use and care of all equipment. Check and record temperatures for alternative school refrigeration equipment during the school week (coolers, freezers, milk boxes, etc.)
Receive and verify deliveries and designate area for proper storage
Accept entire responsibility for storeroom, holding the only key
Inspect all areas of the kitchen before dismissing the staff
Prepare orders (food, supplies, equipment) according to schedule and submit to Child Nutrition Office. If choices are used, plan, order and report two weeks in advance
Be the first in the kitchen and the last out each day. Managers may not permit janitors or other employees to perform this function except with special permission
Operate the food service program efficiently, taking necessary steps to ensure a reasonable plate cost and meals per man hour within the guidelines
Supervise the counting and rolling of all monies. Manager makes the deposit daily
Read, react, take appropriate action regarding and inform staff of pertinent information such as time sheets, sick leave and jury duty data
Prepare accurate records and submit them to the proper authorities at the designated time (menu book, inventory forms, daily record sheets, bank deposits and others as required)
Notify the principal and Child Nutrition Supervisor of manger’s absences
Request approval from Supervisor when deviating from policy

Patrols and monitors all areas of the facility on a consistent basis to prevent theft, vandalism, and illegal entry as well as unauthorized vehicles and illegal parking.
Assists and provides guidance to principal and staff in the maintenance of a safe school Environment.
Provides the faculty with technical assistance regarding school safety planning, crisis training, occupational safety, and overall school security to include personnel, information, and Facility.
Designs and conducts classes related to crime prevention, drug education, law, ethics, and other related areas.
Conducts limited criminal investigations under the supervision of a municipal or county law enforcement agency, and collects information, intelligence, and evidence regarding criminal violations on campus, presents investigative results to the local law enforcement agency.
Conducts staff training related school safety policies and procedures.
Enforces state statutes, district, and individual school regulations, policies, and procedures as they apply; gives directions and information.
Investigates reports of disturbances or suspicious circumstances.

Attend meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for the purpose of gathering information required to perform job functions
Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas, neat and clean at all times
Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity

Sweep classrooms daily and dust furniture
Monitor activities in and around work areas for the purpose of preventing injuries and ensuring site safety; reporting any concerns immediately

Wash windows both inside and outside at least twice each year, and more frequently if necessary

Perform such yard keeping chores such as grass cutting and tree trimming as necessary to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition (as assigned)
Keep floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation
Make minor building repairs
Maintain on a regular schedule motors and other mechanical equipment requiring scheduled servicing
Report immediately to the principal any damage to school property
Remain on the school premises during school hours, and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and extended work hours have been approved
Assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day and for determining, before leaving, that doors and windows are secured, and lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off
Keep an inventory of supplies, equipment, and fuel on hand, and requisition such needed replacements from the principal, or designee, far enough in advance to allow delivery in such time as will not hinder the educational process
Replenish classroom and restroom supplies for the purpose of ensuring adequate quantities for daily use
Conduct an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair
Move furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed

Teacher Homebound Special Education
Principal, Lead Teacher, and Director of Special Education
Meet and instruct assigned classes at the assigned school and at times designated by Principal
Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students
Create a learning environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
Develop lesson plans based on MS standards, and/or Essential Elements, appropriate Functional Goals, and the IEP to address the individual needs of the student
Utilize multiple forms of student data to continually Review and Revise IEPs, lesson plans, grades, and instructional strategies as the need arises to ensure success
Manage classroom behavior through interventions and behavior plans, formal and informal, chart behavior, note successful and unsuccessful interventions on RCSD approved ABC Forms
Consult with a behavior specialist as needed, make referrals for FBAs /BIPs
Implement informal behavioral contracts and formal behavior plans, and revise when necessary
Implement positive behavioral support and interventions
Document behavior daily
Develop and write IEPs based on cumulative, comprehensive data annually
Schedule IEPs with appropriate school personnel, parents, and school
Use data to develop progress reports every grading period and when the IEP dictates
Monitor progress through data collection for all IEP goals daily, weekly, monthly, and annually
Update information in SPED Department’s tracking system to ensure records are current
Consult and collaborate with Related Services personnel and implement recommendations and IEP goals in the classroom and school settings
Communicate with parents formally or informally to maintain rapport and address parent concerns
Submit LREs within the first two weeks of school start date, and each time an IEP Meeting is held
Conduct Re-evaluations every three years are as necessary
