Behavior Specialist

In keeping a tradition of excellence, the purpose of the Behavior Specialist is to provide behavioral support for students as designated by their behavior plan or IEP or other special education forms, and educate teachers on behavior plans and strategies for success in dealing with behaviorally challenged students. These individuals would also complete functional behavior assessments on referred students with social emotional and or behavioral challenges and compose individual behavior support plans based on assessment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. HVAC Technician
HVAC Supervisor, Physical Plant Administrator
Non-exempt, in compliance with FLSA standards
Must be able to read schematics and wiring diagrams associated with HVAC and related systems.
Must have a good knowledge of the refrigeration system to diagnose problems and resolve issues with HVAC systems within the school district.
Must have a good understanding of electrical systems to diagnose problems and resolve issues with HVAC systems within the school district.
Must be able to use refrigerant recovery equipment and gauges for proper handling of refrigerant.
Must have a basic knowledge of the EMS systems controlling the HVAC equipment in the schools. (Schneider and Tracer Summit is a plus)
Must be able to interpret and respond to work orders submitted in the maintenance request system.
Must be able to work with a helper and manage day to day operations.
Set schedules for periodic inspections of HVAC systems in the District

Maintains an ongoing program of professional growth that satisfies district/state requirements as well as satisfying personal expectations as a professional.
Attends building and district meetings to promote communication, collaboration, and mutual decision-making among the staff.
Responsible for insuring that the district’s fixed asset procedures are followed.
Serves on committees that enhance instruction, safety, and/or community partnerships.
Attends established school-sponsored activities (e.g. Back-to-School Night) outside the instructional day as required under reasonable terms.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned. Assists in the fostering and promotion of a positive school climate.
Maintains a professional demeanor during all interactions between colleagues, parents, students and administration.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
