TITLE: Lifeguard
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Community Education Director & Aquatics Coordinator
CLASS SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility as a lifeguard is to prevent drowning and other injuries from occurring. Candidates must be able to ensure the safety of patrons by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.
TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Supervising swimmers.
Spotting hazards and preventing accidents.
Giving advice on water safety.
Controlling unruly behavior.
Water rescue.
First aid including CPR
Collecting fees from participants as needed
Manage supplies, materials and equipment
Perform other duties as assigned

Current Lifeguard certification
Currently certified or the ability to obtain CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
Must be at least 15 years of age

Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships & Excellent customer service skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Constantly required to move and interact with students in and outside a swimming pool including standing, walking, sitting, stooping bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling and reaching with hands and arms. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, lift, use hands for fingering, grasping and feeling, wrists, hands and/or fingers for repetitive motions or computer use. The employee must frequently lift, move and/or carry up to 30 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to and over 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

TITLE: Water Safety Instructor
Stress proper techniques and maintain a safe environment for each level of swim lesson. Experience working with children and/or adults in small groups. Work with youth in a group setting and on an individual basis to teach specific skills. Enforce all established pool rules during and in-between lessons.
Provide swim instruction to students of all ages and abilities in a positive, fun, learning environment.
Stress proper techniques and maintain a safe environment for each level of swim lesson.
Be a positive role model for respectful behavior and problem-solving strategies
Work with youth in a group setting and on an individual basis to teach specific skills.
Enforce all established pool rules during and in-between lessons.
Prepare lesson plans to correlate with participant level and level being taught.
Fill out progress reports properly prior to the last day of lessons including positive/encouraging comments.
Maintain an organized pool environment.
Maintain and complete logs and records.
Follow established emergency procedures and respond appropriately in an emergency situation.
Attend all required aquatics staff in-service training and meetings.
Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district procedures and policies
Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance
Other duties as assigned
Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
Experience in a swim program or knowledge in the instruction of swimming at all aquatics ability levels
Must be at least 16 years of age
Knowledge of stroke mechanics and ability to correct participant strokes

Title: Kids’ Company Associate
REPORTS TO: Community Education Kids’ Company Coordinator
Actively engaging with children during all program hours.
Demonstrating an understanding, patient, warm, and receptive attitude toward all children.
Using appropriate child guidance techniques when interacting with children.
Encouraging conversation and problem-solving among children by using effective communication, reinforcement, redirection, and role modeling.
Assisting with and implementing accommodation plans as necessary for student success.
Leading group activities as directed by the Inclusion Specialist.
Setting up and putting away games, equipment, and supplies as directed by the Inclusion Specialist and weekly program schedule.
Providing input for program planning and activities.
Implementing policies and procedures.
Maintaining records as directed by the Inclusion Specialist including attendance, behavior, accidents, and timesheets.
Assisting with child nutrition procedures.
Keeping program and storage areas orderly.
Greeting parents and children during check-in and pick-up times.

Attending 2% of total annual hours in in-service training.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience working with children. College coursework in education, recreation, or a related field preferred; or

If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.

Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)– 1:1 Support for Medically Fragile Student (Special Education)
Position Summary
The RN or LPN provides direct 1:1 medical and self-care support to a medically fragile high school student receiving special education services. The nurse ensures the student's health, safety, and access to their IEP. When the student is absent due to illness or hospitalization, the RN or LPN serves as a substitute nurse within the district, when needed.

Watertown-Mayer Public Schools is seeking an experienced educator to serve as a Teacher in our Teacher Apprenticeship Program. The Journey Teacher will mentor a paraprofessional-apprentice working toward special education licensure by providing modeling, coaching, feedback, and professional guidance throughout the academic year. Approximately two hours per week during the duty day will be dedicated to planning, observing, and reflecting with the apprentice.
During the apprentice's final year (year-long student teaching), the Journey Teacher will support a gradual release of classroom responsibilities, assist with paraprofessional duties as needed, and participate in required triad meetings.
