Position Description:
Lifeguards are primarily responsible for supervising and maintaining a safe pool environment. Lifeguards enforce facility rules and regulations and educate patrons about them.

Position Title: Learn To Swim Instructor & Lifeguard
Learn to Swim Instructors & Lifeguards are primarily responsible for providing appropriate swim instruction to children and adults of all ages and abilities. Instructors enforce facility rules and regulations and educate patrons about them.
Training: We use onsite swim instructor training for new aquatics staff. New Instructors will be required to attend a Westonka Swim Academy and shadow a Swim Instructor for approximately 6- 10 hours prior to teaching. During this time new instructors will shadow experienced instructors' classes and gain valuable knowledge and teaching skills before teaching classes on their own. During the Swim Academy instructors will learn communication skills for kids and parents, as well as best practice teaching swimming and safety skills. Once hired staff will also be required to attend periodic training and in-services throughout the session.

The Westonka High School Activities Department is looking for individuals who are interested in joining our Assistant Coaching or Event Management Teams. Coaching range of pay is determined by the level and experience. The range of pay is between $2,000 and $4,000. The range of payment for Event Management is between $11.00 and $18.00/hour; also eligible for sick leave. Payment depends on responsibility for each event.
