GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clean classrooms, bathrooms and halls.Dust mop and sweep floors daily Wet mop or run floor scrubber daily. Clean any marks on walls daily. Clean white boards. Disinfect desks in rooms daily. Dust all ledges and areas that accumulate dust. Clean windows on doors daily. Clean and disinfect water fountains daily. Dust all locker tops. Clean all marks on lockers. Clean and disinfect all sinks, toilets and urinals daily. Empty all sanitary boxes and replace liners daily. Refill all soap, paper towel and toilet paper dispensers daily. Wash all entry glass daily. Empty garbage cans and take all garbage to dumpsters and make sure the lids are closed daily. Replace burned out light bulbs. Report any maintenance needs or repairs to the Director of Building and Operations. Additional duties as assigned.

Description: LASEC Academy Teacher Job Summary: Lockport Area Special Education Cooperative has an immediate opening for a full-time special education teacher for its LASEC Academy ED/BD self-contained classroom for grades 5-8. Applicants must hold a current LBS-I. The successful applicant must work well in teams, possess strong communication skills, be knowledgeable of best practice related to classroom behavior management, show a demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and have knowledge of CBM progress monitoring. Experience in crisis prevention and intervention is preferred although training will be provided. The substitute teacher is expected to follow the classroom teacher's directions when the classroom teacher is unable to attend. The substitute teacher is responsible to make sure that the lessons are conducted and the teacher assistants are utilized as scheduled by the teacher.
The substitute teacher is expected to follow the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher. The substitute teacher must have skills in carrying out the instructions left by the classroom teacher, and the substitute teacher should prepare by reviewing the classroom teacher's plans and notes before the instructional time begins.
The substitute teacher is expected to be in charge of the classroom making sure that the classroom teacher assistants and instructional materials enhance the instructional school day.
The substitute teacher is expected to provide instruction to the students based upon materials and information left by the classroom teacher and input from persons in the classroom who are knowledgeable about the students.
The substitute teacher is expected to work as a professional in the building introducing him/herself to persons who enter the classroom and demonstrating professional conduct regarding confidential information about students and personnel.

Substitute Teachers needed for grades Pre-K to 8th grade. We are a 1 school district and our Laraway School is located at 1715 Rowell Ave. in Joliet. The school is for grades Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade.

Function of Position:

• Identifies student’s needs for additional resources and services under direction of the certified teacher and in cooperation with the administration and staff.
• Makes appropriate service referrals for students under direction of the certified teacher and administration.
Substitute Instructional Assistants are called upon to fill in for day to day classroom assistants. Instructional assistants will be expected to assist classroom teachers with working on all aspects of classroom instruction and classroom management. Substitute instructional assistants will report directly to the classroom teacher to whom they are assigned for the day.
