Title: Substitute TeacherReports To: Human Resources and Building Principal BASIC FUNCTION:In the absence of the regular classroom teacher, the substitute teacher provides instruction, encourages student progress and manages the learning environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Must have the necessary certification, license or permit required by state law to serve in a substitute teaching assignment. Must be at least 21 years of age. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
WORKING CONDITIONS:Environment: School sites; indoor and outdoor settings.Physical Abilities: Standing for extended periods of time; bending at the waist to assist students; reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally; hearing and speaking to exchange information; seeing to monitor student activities and behavior; dexterity of hands and fingers to demonstrate activities and prepare materials.Hazards: Contact (at times) with disgruntled individuals
