GENERAL DUTIES:
To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, and appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in coaching at or near high school varsity level.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Current First Aid Card.
NFHS Coach Education Program Certification.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:
Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for achievement to the highest degree possible in the sport involved.
Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in session.
Works closely with the athletic director in scheduling intramural and interscholastic contests.
Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms, as appropriate, and assumes responsibility for proper care and maintenance of all such items.
Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records and other relevant paperwork.
Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in his/her sport, and encourages all participants to maintain high standards as students, citizens and athletes.
Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees the discipline for breach of such standards by individual students.
Attends special events held to recognize student achievement, and attends school-sponsored activities, functions and athletic events.
Conducts periodic staff meetings as appropriate to keep the staff members informed of policy changes, new programs, etc., and to be informed of staff concerns, and to provide for a general exchange of ideas.
Keeps the superintendent informed of the school's activities, problems and status.
Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
Provides input to the superintendent in relation to the formulation of district policy.
Performs other duties as directed by the superintendent.
Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the superintendent.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: School Administrator/Student Services Director
GENERAL DUTIES
Perform a variety of paraprofessional duties to assist a licensed teacher in the
instruction of students with disabilities. Instruction and/or service may be separate from the teacher, requiring skill and supervision within the framework of an IEP or program procedure. Provide clerical functions as needed. May require assistance to, and supervision of, students on the playground.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent. Two years of postsecondary education, or an associate’s (or higher) degree, or a high school education or equivalent and a passing score on a state or local academic assessment that measures knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics, may be required
Able to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds
Be at least 18 years of age or older
The ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively with students and teachers
The ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
The ability to perform basic secretarial/clerical skills
Appropriate attire for the physical requirements of the job
May be required to become certified in Oregon Intervention System (OIS) or similar district-assigned program
Have standards of moral character as required of teachers
Ability to work harmoniously with others
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Instruct individuals or small groups of students as directed by a licensed teacher or in accordance with an adopted program
Check student work, correct papers, and supervise testing
Provide for identified physical needs of students, such as toileting, feeding, therapy, transporting, assisting in lifting or moving students who lack mobility, and other related needs
Assist in implementing classroom management, which may include the physical management, physical movement, lifting, and carrying of students
Assist teacher in devising special strategies to meet student needs, IEPs, and program expectations
Prepare materials as designed by a licensed teacher
Supervise student helpers and direct them in the performance of assigned duties
Perform various clerical duties in student record-keeping and other related functions
Assist in direct instruction as directed by licensed staff. Implement related service activities under the direction of related service staff
Attend and participate in District training sessions
Required to maintain current First Aid/CPR certificate
Maintain positive and professional behavior, including student/program confidentiality
Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment
