DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
General:

Specific:
1. Ensure that all students follow established recess procedures. 
2. Maintain the cleanliness of the recess space.
3. Inform the administration of playground issues.
4. Maintain a safe and positive recess atmosphere.
5. Monitor and maintain the necessary recess supplies.
6. Dismiss and monitor students to their designated playground/recess area.
7. Correct/redirect inappropriate/unsafe playground behavior.
8. Supervise use of playground/indoor recess equipment.
9. Refer significant concerns to administration
10. Document incidents of inappropriate behavior resulting in injury.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal. 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Pay, benefits, work/days as established by the Board of Education. (At-will employee.)

Kenilworth School District 38 is seeking a motivated individual who enjoys working with students disabilities to serve as a paraprofessional (instructional assistant) at The Joseph Sears School. 
 
The Joseph Sears School is a neighborhood JK-8 schoolhouse located in Kenilworth, IL, that enrolls approximately 450 students. The district has a reputation for having talented teachers and specialists.  The school boasts small class sizes, low teacher to student ratios, and high quality technology and instructional resources. The instructional assistant provides academic and behavioral support to students with disabilities under the direction of the student's case manager. A successful Instructional Assistant is a team player who is passionate about supporting students, communicates effectively, works independently, and demonstrates flexibility.
 
Qualifications:
 
- High school diploma
 
- No physical or lifting restrictions 
 
 
 
Hours: 8:10 to 3:15 
 
Rate of Pay: Position starts from $16.50 to $17.50 per hour with opportunities for extra duty pay.

Qualifications:
 
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois. (Will consider LPN, EMT-P)
• Current CPR/AED Certification.
• Experience in nursing - preferably in pediatrics or emergency medicine.

Responsibilities:
• Provide direct professional nursing services, first aid, illness and emergency care to students and staff.
• Promote health and wellness.
• Implements district rules on exclusion and re-admission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases.
• Assumes responsibility for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered an illness, injury or emergency medical issue during school hours.
• Nurses must complete detailed written care and communication documentation.
• This position requires independent practice with solid skills and medical knowledge.

This is a Substitute position- will call as needed. Qualified candidates will be provided orientation/training if possible.


Rate of Pay $165/Day
