The information you provide in your eventbrite registration will be used to to set up your access to Public School Works.
Note:
These are the required online courses that need to be completed in Public School Works. This summer we added two additional required courses in Public School Works for the upcoming school year.
C-012 Substitute onboarding course (required at initial hire)
C-008 ESC-COG Substitute Employee Handbook (annual course)
M-026 Bloodbourne Pathogens for School Employees (annual course)
M-850 COVID-19
How to Protect Yourself and Others

ESCCO Electronic Data Security
. Beginning this year all active ESC-COG substitutes will be assigned an ESCCO.ORG email address and this course deals with electronic security awareness. (annual course)
Your Public School Works "log in" credentials will be emailed to you within a few days of registering in eventbrite.
While you are waiting for your user name and password, you can start working on your substitute employment application in Recruiting and Hiring .
To complete your employment application you will need bring your Department of Homeland Securtiy Form
I-9 documents to our office for review. You can also arrange for an appointment to obtain your background checks, if neededa at our office. Please go to our web site to arrange an appointment.
Once you have submitted your employment application , you will receive an
eForm
packet to complete, which will be attached to your application. You will be attaching the following documents to the eForm packet.
ODE teaching or substitute license or Educational Aide Permit.
We are currently reviewing recently passed legislation that permits an individual who does not hold a post secondary degree as a substitute teacher through Jne 30, 2021. More detail to follow .
BCI and FBI background checks results from the Ohio Attorney General's Office (completed within12 months of your employment application) You will need an appointment to schedule your background check. For additional information please go to

Thank you for your interest in the ESC-COG substitute consortium. The ESC-COG substitute consortium also provides non-teaching substitutes for the districts listed below. All assignments that work directly with students must obtain an Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education. Please note our substitute onboarding is now provided online through Public School Works.

The annual reactivation period for the 2019-2020 school year for all active substitutes begins April 1, 2019.
You are an Active substitute employee if you used Absence Management through our consoritum to accept at least 10 assignments during the 2018-2019 school year.
If you had a break in service as a substiute employee (
you have not worked nor been paid by the ESC in the past 12 months
) , you will need to re apply as a new subsitute employee and will need to update your eForm (BCI/FBI background checks, direct deposit forms state,federal and local tax withholding forms).
Just a reminder that in Applicant Tracking your

is your email address and your

Steps to complete 2019-2020 annual renewal/reasonable assurance:
Attach your current ODE 2019-20 license ( teaching, substitute license or educational aide permit,or CT 37 license for Career Centers) An electronic copy of your license is available on line from ODE through your OH/ID
account ( formerly SAFE account) .
Please remember to update your FBI background check every five years with our office and Ohio Department of Education.
Complete the annual BBP training course and the ESC-COG Subsitute Employee handbook in Public School Works (after April 1, 2019) .

Select your school district preferences. The top section is for substitute teaching and the bottom section is for non-teaching assignments.
Once you have completed the renewal, hit the submit button, which will forward your file to our attention. You will receive an email acknowledgement email as a receipt.
Our ESC-COG HR office staff will review your renewal and you will be notified by email once your file has been reactivated for 2019-2020 .
All renewals completed before July 1st will remain active.

The annual reactivation period for the 2020-2021 school year for all active ESC-COG substitutes opened on April 1, 2020. You are considered an Active substitute employee as long as you used Absence Management through our consortium to accept (at least 10) assignments during the 2019-2020 school year.
Please note we are waiving the required ten assignment requirement from last year for the 2020-2021 school year.
