Position: Instructional Coach (2025-2026 School Year)
Description: The Goodhue County Education District (GCED) has an opening for a part-time (0.3 FTE) Instructional Coach position. This position will serve the Cannon Falls School District. Both the start date and the arrangement of the 0.3 FTE time on a week-to-week basis are flexible.
Licensure: Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Elementary Education and/or Special Education (willing to consider an Out-of-Field Permission).

We are seeking a caring and skilled Minnesota Licensed Braillist to join our student support team in a full-time position. The Braillist plays a vital role in helping students who are blind or visually impaired access curriculum and fully participate in their learning. This position includes not only transcribing instructional materials into braille but also working directly with students to support their use of braille, tactile graphics, and assistive technology in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Transcribe print and digital materials into braille using approved transcription software and embossing equipment.
Produce tactile graphics and other accessible instructional materials to enhance student learning.
Work directly with students to provide guidance in reading braille, understanding tactile graphics, and using braille materials effectively.
Support students in developing independence with accessible educational tools, technology, and classroom materials. Collaborate closely with Teachers of the Blind/Visually Impaired, classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure instructional needs are met.
Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when appropriate, providing input on braille and accessible format needs.
Adapt classroom assessments, assignments, and testing materials into braille or other formats in a timely manner.
Serve as a positive role model and advocate for students with visual impairments.
Qualifications:
Minnesota Braillist License (required).
Strong knowledge of Unified English Braille (UEB) and Nemeth Code.
Proficiency with braille transcription software (e.g., Duxbury) and embossing equipment.
Experience working with children or youth with visual impairments preferred.
Ability to engage, encourage, and build supportive relationships with students.
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach with staff, students, and families.
The Goodhue County Education District (GCED) serves 6 member school districts in southeastern Minnesota with a total enrollment of approximately 7,000 pupils. The Education District employs 140 staff, has an annual budget of approximately $13 million, and has been recognized for its partnerships with other service agencies. GCED operates a Federal Setting IV program, an 18-21 year-old Transition Program, Title III/Multilingual programming, Alternative Education options, Regional Perkins/Career and Technical Education support, a full online school (5RiversOnline), and related specialized services (Early Childhood Special Education, Deaf/Hard of Hearing Blind/Visually Impaired, etc.). The Goodhue County Education District has openings (2) for a Setting IV Paraprofessional for the 2025-2026 school year. The paraprofessionals will work under the supervision of special education teachers serving students for EBD, ASD, or DCD in a Setting IV program at River Bluff Education Center in Red Wing.
