Associate Director of Advancement Communications
12-month, Salaried exempt, Institutional, staff position
The Associate Director of Advancement Communications is a member of Loyola Academy’s dynamic Development team and reports to the Director of Annual Giving. This role encompasses digital marketing, social media, and print design & production. Its responsibilities bridge storytelling, writing & design, branding, stewardship, and strategic outreach & communications across Loyola’s fundraising (i.e. major gifts and annual giving) and alumni relations teams. This is a fast-paced role that seeks a mid-level professional who embodies creativity and has a team-oriented mindset. The Associate Director of Advancement Communications is vital in supporting Loyola Academy’s fundraising and alumni engagement strategy and goals.
Key Responsibilities
Print, Digital, and Social Media Content Creation
Write and design compelling donor communications including but not limited to: annual appeals, solicitation letters/emails, stewardship pieces, impact reports, data visualization, and campaign-related materials
Develop content, design, and produce digital marketing emails, including Annual Fund solicitations, Planned Giving outreach, alumni enews (quarterly), LA Loyal newsletter (biannual), and more
Prepare social media campaigns and related assets for GivingTuesday, EOCY giving, and Ramblers Rally Day, Loyola’s Day of Giving
Seek out donor stories from our community across all constituencies: parents, graduate parents, alumni, grandparents, fac/staff, and friends. Develop donor-centered messaging and storytelling that aligns with Loyola Academy’s values, priorities, and aspirations; that celebrates giving; and that promotes a spirit of future generosity
Produce the Annual Report and related donor impact stories
Collaborate with the School Communications team as needed
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Project Management
Maintain editorial calendars and ensure timely execution of deliverables
Help manage donor-related website forms and integrations with CRM tools, partnering with the Advancement Services team as needed
Manage communications for donor events including invitations, registration forms, signage, and post-event follow-up, including but not limited to: thank you emails, recap stories, and attendee surveys
Work closely with front line fundraisers (FLFs) to develop materials that address individual donor priorities
Serve as liaison between Development (Annual Giving, Major Gifts, and Alumni relations) and the School Communications team to coordinate schedules and timing of messaging across various channels (print, email, social media)
Ensure consistency in visual and written communications in align with Loyola Academy’s brand guidelines
Required Skills and Characteristics
Superior writing and exceptional understanding of the mechanics of grammar and composition
Fundamental understanding of the inextricable link between communication, storytelling, relationship building, and, ultimately, successful fundraising
Strong judgement for appropriate tone and style and excellent attention to accuracy
Creative mindset that combines imagination, vision, and willingness to experiment with swift production of materials that are polished and professional
Collaborative approach to problem-solving
Flexible, fast, and adaptable writing ability to tell stories in interesting and compelling ways to specific audience segments (e.g. young alumni, parents, board members)
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
Superior use of Adobe Creative Suite, BlackBaud, Constant Contact, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Canva
Knowledge of Asana, Raiser’s Edge, website design, content management systems, HTML, CSS helpful
Ability to work independently when necessary while always contributing to the efforts of the overall team
Strong alignment and commitment to the mission and values of Loyola Academy
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or related field
The candidate should be prepared to share a body of work exemplifying the depth and breadth of his/her creative work across digital, print, and social media channels.
Salary Range: $72,000 - $78,000 Loyola Academy Benefit Summary
Temporary Mathematics Teacher Loyola Academy is a Jesuit, Catholic college preparatory school committed to forming women and men for others in service to the Church and the world. The Temporary Mathematics Teacher needs to be a person who models cura personalis with the entire community – students, parents, faculty, and staff members. The minimum qualifications required are:
Commitment to the principles of Jesuit education as set forth in Loyola Academy’s mission statement and the Profile of the Jesuit High School Graduate at Graduation;
Ability to teach all levels of Mathematics
Effective and positive communication and collaboration skills
Experience teaching in a 1:1 iPad environment
Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters preferred
