Preschool Teacher (Maternity Leave Replacement) Overview Provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction and care for a preschool classroom during a maternity leave, ensuring continuity of learning, safety, and family communication.
Key Responsibilities
Implement daily instruction aligned to NJ Preschool Teaching & Learning Standards using developmentally appropriate practice. Deliver lessons/centers that support early literacy, numeracy, SEL, and play-based learning; differentiate for diverse learners (IEPs, MLLs/ELLs).
Maintain a safe, nurturing classroom; supervise students during arrival, dismissal, lunch/recess as assigned.
Collect observational data and document student progress (e.g., Teaching Strategies GOLD or similar).
Collaborate with paraprofessionals, CST/related services, and administrators to support student goals.
Communicate regularly with families and uphold school policies and routines.
Qualifications
New Jersey P-3 or Nursery–Grade 3 certification (CE/CEAS/Standard).
Experience in early childhood settings preferred; knowledge of Creative Curriculum/TS GOLD a plus.
Strong classroom management, collaboration, and communication skills.
Current NJ criminal history/fingerprint clearance
Schedule & Compensation
Monday–Friday, full school day
Compensation per district long-term substitute rate
