Mountain Sunrise is a Waldorf-inspired kindergarten - 6th grade charter school in Utah County. We are located on the border of Saratoga Springs and Lehi, on the banks of beautiful Utah lake, surrounded by the majestic Wasatch mountain range. Title: Fourth Grade Teacher
Description: Mountain Sunrise teachers are expected to create and maintain a professional program true to the ideals of Waldorf pedagogy.
We are seeking candidates who are innovative, creative and flexible and ready to join us wholeheartedly in continuing to develop a unique Waldorf-based educational environment. Our ideal candidate will strive for excellence in teaching and be committed to dialogue with parents and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, pedagogy, and methods of Waldorf education
Integrate art, movement, and experiential learning while effectively teaching state standards
Musical ability, especially singing or a willingness to learn
Good communication and collaboration with all stakeholders
Show effective classroom management
Work with individual children who need guidance
Facilitate daily/weekly rhythms through intentional lesson planning and provide a safe and healthy classroom environment.
Care for the physical and emotional well-being of the children
Care for the physical environment which includes maintaining a beautiful classroom that is clean and orderly.
Qualifications
Mountain Sunrise will follow applicable USBE standards. All teachers will have a bachelor level degree at an approved higher education institution and will hold an appropriate license with areas of concentration and endorsements as approved by the USBE (See R277-510, R277-520 and R277-524) such as an AEL or PEL
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
Waldorf experience is highly recommended such as a certificate in Waldorf education or experience as a Waldorf teacher. If these are not present then the teacher should have a commitment and dedication to receive professional Waldorf teacher training to develop skills and capacities, which we will help provide. We also provide onsite Waldorf trained mentor teachers!
Regularly able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds

About Us: Join our vibrant MSA community, where we are dedicated to fostering a holistic educational environment that nurtures the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development of our students. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated teacher assistant to support our mission of providing whole child education to all of our students.
Collaborating with teachers, parents, and students, delivering instruction as needed, supervising outdoor recess, taking direction from the lead teacher.
Classroom assistants are required to spend time indoors and outdoors in all weather as Waldorf schools encourage ample daily outdoor time.
Regularly able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students ensuring their academic and social-emotional success.
Assist in the development and implementation of classroom activities that align with Waldorf education principles.
Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and performance, maintaining accurate records and reporting to appropriate staff.
Utilize positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques to support student learning and development.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, empathy, and cooperation among all students.
Qualifications:
Minimum of high school diploma is required
Experience working with children preferably in an educational setting.
Understanding and appreciation of Waldorf education principles and methodologies.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the growth and development of students.
Ability to adapt and respond to the unique challenges and needs of each student.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with or knowledge of Waldorf education.
