VISION AND ORIENTATION & MOBILITY

Position Summary
:
The Vision Itinerant teacher travels between schools to provide direct instruction, evaluation, and adapted materials for students with visual impairments. The itinerant teacher also provides consultation and technical assistance to staff working with students with visual impairments.
The Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist teaches orientation and safe travel skills at a developmentally appropriate level to visually impaired students. Additionally, the O&M Specialist will orient and train staff members.
Qualifications:
IL Professional Educators License (PEL) with an endorsement for a Teacher of Students Who Are Visually Impaired.
Licensure in Orientation and Mobility is preferred but not required.
